Overview
Setting default message templates to be pre-selected when making application status changes can be done via the Recruitment Process Messages area located in the Admin Console. Configuring this feature can save you time while also reinforcing your recruitment process ensuring that your candidates receive key information throughout their journey from a new applicant to new employee.
What is required to set this up?
- Access to modify these permissions must be granted to specific user types. By default, only Admin level users will have the ability to access and modify Recruitment Process Messages. This permission can be added to additional user types if you prefer.
- You must have a Custom Recruitment Process configured.
- You must have a Job Message Template or General Message Template

How do I configure Recruitment Process Messages?
- Hover over you name in the upper right hand corner and select 'Admin Console' from the menu that appears.
- Click on the Recruitment Process Message tile to access the configuration screen.
- Navigate to the recruitment process that you'd like to configure.
Tip: You can collapse or expand your recruitment processes by clicking the header!
- In the Default Message Template dropdown, select which Message Template you would like to be pre-selected when making that specific status change.
- Click the Save button at the bottom of the page when you've finished.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why is the message template I'd like to use not available in the Default Message Template dropdown?
A: The message template type must be either a Job Message or General Message to be set as a Default Message Template
Q: Why is the Default Message Template dropdown greyed out for some statuses?
A: There are some statuses that have global message templates associated. For example, the application started reminder and the application received confirmation emails are predetermined and not editable at the account level. In other scenarios, there are statuses that are not selectable in the UI. For example, Application Submitted or Submission Review.
